We filmed several Carsonites and their screens for the whole first day of Matt Week, sped it up, added a track from MGMT … and here’s what you get.

How did you guys capture all that video? Did you run Screnflow or something ALL day? Certainly proves how bulletproof it is if that’s the case…

Is that Django I see? :D Nice stuff! It was a great sensation to see the design and development happening simultaneously. Saw a lot of the twitter in there too. ;) Can’t wait to see the finished product!

That was great! Now you’ve got me thinking about all the different ways you could combine live video and screencasts. A sidebar javascript where the commands you entered or urls you are visiting would kickass. Not to mention what snacks you indulged in.
Also love the fact you’re using Django and playing MGMT. Luckily a friend got me on the MGMT tip a couple weeks ago and I have been getting my fill.

@mike I have to disagree, if you watch closely you will see that there are numerous debug/error messages on my screen. It’s not just the same one :)
@Bryan Veloso Yup, Django it is. It’s been an interesting time trying to build something in a new framework and only a little Python experience. It was all part of the challenge. Loving Djagno although I still have much to learn.

@Keir - ok, I saw something change. But surely that should read

20 Goto 10

Brilliant indeed.
1) really the consistency of the Carsonified apps
2) thanx god I won the MGMT CD from my buddies Asilepop (just to thank them)
3) when you look at it, you just want to start coding/photoshoping something
4) open an office in Paris!

Hey, Sounds like you guys had a fun event :)
I personally have extensive experience with both Django and Symfony. My preference is Django. Could you elaborate on why you feel Symfony and Rails are a better choice?
Cheers,
Thierry

@Thierry: Hi, thanks for your comment - I’m writing a blog post to go up this week about the developers’ experience during Matt week. It’s entirely possible that we haven’t explored all the possibilities of Django, since we’ve only worked with it for four days - but it’s a great framework, and the more we use it, the more we like it!

@Ulrich - Thanks for your comment! Not sure whether we’ll be opening an office in Paris yet, we might just have to make do with pain au chocolat and croissants.
