How to… do OER
June 24th, 2008 Posted by: l.dewis
The UNESCO OER Community are in the middle of a 2 week discussion about creating an OER Toolkit. From this I’ve discovered that The University of Art and Design in Helsinki facilitated a free and open 10 week course earlier this year on Composing free and open online educational resources. The course covered the history of the OER, LeMill and Wikiversity, the philosophical background to the OER movement, copyright and alternatives, wikipedia and wikimedia, taking and sharing images, audio and video. There were 70 registered participants and 20 kept course blogs and completed all the assignments. I’ve found at least one student blog that evaluates OpenLearn. The evaluation session used FlashMeeting to connect the participants. The course was inspired by David Wiley’s Open Ed Syllabus.
Super cool.
